Recording FRIDA - part 1

On May 20, 2020, our daughter Frida passed away one day after her birth — unexpectedly, suddenly.
The shock - and then the emptiness.
People often say that everyone grieves in their own way.

It took a while before new music came.
Eventually, songs wanted to be written - about Frida.
For the first time, I was afraid to write.
Afraid to sing them, to record them, and not knowing if I would ever be able to perform this music.

Every creative process is different - this one needed a lot of gentleness.
In choosing the right partners, collaborators, and fellow musicians, and in sensing what was possible in terms of workload - no twelve-hour days in the studio, and no intense personalities.

And that’s how it all began…
