Recording FRIDA - part 3

I wanted to record my vocals close to Frida – so on a winter day at the end of last year, Fieke packed up her recording gear and we went to Heidepol – the beautiful natural cemetery where Frida was laid to rest. We recorded at huisje ANNA – the little building you see in the picture. My mother’s name is Anna – a beautiful coincidence. It was freezing cold; I could see my breath as I sang. But I felt close to her. It was very special – comforting, in a quiet and tender way.
